The 40th instrument to ever come off of Paul Reed Smith's bench, this bass is a piece of history! Not only is this a rare PRS, it was built by Paul himself in 1986. The quality is second to none. Even in this early iteration of PRS, the innovations that made the company famous are clearly evident.
Solid Mahogany body, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, active hum cancelling pickups, hip-shot drop D tuner on the E string, neck-through construction... this bass is amazing, any way you slice it.

Excellent condition; small repaired paint spot on the headstock, and small repaired ding above the neck pickup, both shown in pics. This is an early example of Paul Reed Smith's craftsmanship - the 40th instrument he ever made. Other than the above mentioned problems, this bass is very clean, plays great, and sounds amazing. A true piece of guitar history!
