This double sound hole guitar was originally designed for and made popular by Keola Beamer, the great Hawaiian slack key artist. It has an astounding capability to produce a deep, rich tone with a bass response previously unattainable in a similarly sized body. By moving the soundhole away from the end of the fingerboard, a larger area of the top can be utilized to achieve a bigger sound overall. The transverse brace, usually located just behind the soundhole in front of the bridge, can be moved up to the end of the fingerboard, effectively "opening" up the tone producing potential of the soundboard. The Beamer model is great for players who like a deep bass, especially those playing "slack key" style or using tunings with "D" or "C" in the bass. This Concert-sized Beamer features a spruce top with abalone border, dual soundholes each bordered with abalone, 35 year old select Brazilian rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlay, a mahogany neck with the grimes logo and diamond inlayed in abalone on the headstock, curly Koa bindings/purflings, gold schaller tuners with ebony knobs, ebony bridge/pins, and comes with a Ameritage hardshell case. This guitar has suffered some minor damage due to humidity issues and has several small cracks that can easily be repaired. The price has been reduced to allow for this. This guitar is part of an estate sale from the passing of John Patrick Welch, a geniunely nice guy and avid guitar collector that I had the privledge of knowing and working with. We have several guitars here that John had aquired over the last 15 years. Many are one offs built to his specifications by some of todays top luthiers using the most exotic tonewoods available. Money was no object in Johns quest for the ultimate in craftsmanship and tone. For more info on any of these guitars, please do not hesitate to contact me personally. Rick Tedesco
