SOLD Paul Reed Smith Curly Bass V MINT SOLD

This PRS CURLY BASS -5 was built for the then president of PRS guitars, Clay Evans in 1987. It features a killer quilted maple top, mahogany back, rock maple neck, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, bird inlays, 3 single coil pickups, I hum canceling, original hardshell case. It was built for Clay as a birthday gift from his brother Matt and was hand signed on the headstock by Paul. The bass is in pristine condition!

This guitar is part of Clay Evans private collection that is being offered for sale exclusively at the Guitar Hangar. For those of you who do not know, Clay Evans was employed by Paul Reed Smith Guitars from 1986 through 2000 and went from Regional Sales Manager to President of the company. Every guitar in his collection is pristine, and has never been played. Many of them still had the protective foam wrap taped in place around the neck that all new PRS guitars are shipped with!  Every guitar in his collection are made from woods carefully selected from Paul's private stash for their quality in tone as well as beauty. Each guitar was selected as the prime example of the line it represented... to put it in simple terms, the very best of the best. Many are prototypes or very low numbers in limited runs.
