This 1994 Paul Reed Smith McCarty "Guitar of the Month" Prototype #3 features an insanely figured Birdseye Maple top, Highly Figured Mahogany neck and Mahogany back, Abalone bird inlays, Volume tone 3 way switch, tone is a push pull coil tap, Gold Hardware, Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard and headstock overlay, Eagle inlay in the headstock, Original PRS Hardshell Case. The Guitar of the Month program was the start of the Private Stock division! This is a pre Private Stock, Private Stock!

This guitar is part of Clay Evans private collection that is being offered for sale exclusively at the Guitar Hangar. For those of you who do not know, Clay Evans was employed by Paul Reed Smith Guitars from 1986 through 2000 and went from Regional Sales Manager to President of the company. Every guitar in his collection is pristine, and has never been played. Many of them still had the protective foam wrap taped in place around the neck that all new PRS guitars are shipped with!  Every guitar in his collection are made from woods carefully selected from Paul's private stash for their quality in tone as well as beauty. Each guitar was selected as the prime example of the line it represented... to put it in simple terms, the very best of the best. Many are prototypes or very low numbers in limited runs.
