The Carlos Santana One was the first reproduction by Paul Reed Smith of Carlos's signature custom guitar. The line was started in 1995 and was discontinued in 1998, and featured a strikingly different cutaway from the "traditional" PRS body carve, and more reflects the guitars made earlier by Paul Reed Smith. The first Santana Ones featured a numbered backplate, and this is number 2 of 100. (Number one is owned by the company).
This Santana Model one features an awesome flamed maple top which is inlayed with green abalone down the middle and up the body flanking the pickups, mahogany neck and body, rosewood fingerboard, custom wound zebra humbucker pickups, a volume and tone control, 2 on/off switches for each pickup, PRS tremolo bridge, Schaller tuners, chrome hardware and comes in a Santana yellow finish. Hardshell case included. This is the earliest Santana I made that is now available to the general public!
This guitar is part of Clay Evans private collection that is being offered for sale exclusively at the Guitar Hangar. For those of you who do not know, Clay Evans was employed by Paul Reed Smith Guitars from 1986 through 2000 and went from Regional Sales Manager to President of the company. Every guitar in his collection is pristine, and has never been played. Many of them still had the protective foam wrap taped in place around the neck that all new PRS guitars are shipped with! Every guitar in his collection are made from woods carefully selected from Paul's private stash for their quality in tone as well as beauty. Each guitar was selected as the prime example of the line it represented... to put it in simple terms, the very best of the best. Many are prototypes or very low numbers in limited runs. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire the absolute top shelf in modern collectible guitars. If you have any questions, please call me personally!
