The J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection, the 2016 J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights.
This 2014 Gibson J-45 Standard is the meat-and-potatoes version of the J-45. Without a bunch of cosmetic flourishes, this guitar is all business. The Sitka Spruce top is finished in the classic Tobacco Brown Sunburst, with Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck, MOP dot inlays, Rosewood fretboard, Rosewood bridge, and Grover closed-back tuners. This J-45 Standard is also loaded with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, which feature low profile tone controls inside the soundhole.
The tone of this J-45 Standard is pure classic Gibson. Lots of deep lows with woodsy undertones, smooth mids, and sweet highs that combine for a dynamically rich acoustic tone that will knock your ever-lovin' socks off.
