Tenor guitars are a great way to add tonal variety to any acoustic performance. Tuned like a viola, mandola, or tenor banjo (C, G, D, A fifths), the Ibanez PFT2 has a familiar tone, yet offers unique voicings to standard chords played on traditional acoustic guitars. Popularized in the 1920's, Tenor guitars have an "old timey" sound, reminiscent of the big band era.
The Ibanez PFT2 is built with the classic combination of a Mahogany back and sides, with a Sitka Spruce top. This classic combo of woods adds warmth to the Tenor guitar's normally somewhat thin voice. The result is a vintage-toned Tenor, with added warmth and depth, making it perfect for singer-songwriters and soloists.
The PFT2 features a Mini Dreadnought body shape, which makes it especially comfortable for smaller players and kids. But even though the PFT2 is little, it is fierce! The X-braced Sitka Spruce soundboard provides loud, clear projection to ensure you will be heard over other players in an acoustic ensemble.
