The Fender Hot Rod '52 Telecaster has the heart and soul of a vintage Telecaster, with a couple crucial upgrades to make it perfect for the modern player. It's got a top-of-the-line thin-skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that ages quickly and beautifully as well as letting the natural tone of the wood shine. The classic 50's Tele U-shaped neck has 9.5" fingerboard radius, and medium-jumbo frets. The three brass saddles on the vintage-style Tele bridge are compensated to allow for more accurate intonation.
The electronics in the Hot Rod Telecaster combine the best of both worlds: a fat sounding full-sized Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker in the neck for crunchy rhythms and chunky riffs, and a Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack for Tele in the bridge for a little extra oomph - the original bridge pickup is included in the case. The rest of its features are true-blue '52 Tele, just like the original: a premium ash body, one-piece maple neck with U-shape profile, Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners, a one-ply black pickguard, and chrome hardware.
This guitar has been retrofitted with a Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack in the bridge position. The original Fender single coil pickup will be included in the case. More about the Duncan Vintage Stack Tele pickup: Duncan's unique noiseless Stack design keeps all the classic Telecaster twang and bite without the hum. This vintage output stack delivers classic lead tone, with all of the bright Tele twang, but none of the traditional single coil noise. The highs have a nice sparkle, and the low end is snappy and articulate the way it should be. The output is straight up vintage, making this a great choice for layers who need to eliminate the hum, but without sacrificing true Tele lead tone. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Vintage Lead Stack uses alnico 5 rod magnets, a 4-conductor lead wire, and is wax potted for squeal free operation.
