Originally released as the Broadcaster in 1950, the Fender Telecaster has been a standard in the electric guitar world since its inception. There have been a few modifications to this guitar over the years, but at its core this Tele feels and sounds exactly like it's supposed to. The body and neck are original, with the neck marked 12-55 and the body marked 11-55. The bridge plate and the pickups are original, with the "patent pending" stamp visible on the exterior of the bridge plate. This guitar is a joy to play, with no fret or intonation problems, no fret buzz, and no problems with the electronics. The tone is pure vintage fender, and the wood has aged nicely, as the guitar has been cared for and properly stored over the years.
Over the years, there were a few modifications, customizations, and repairs performed on this guitar. We've gone over the instrument with a fine-toothed comb to ensure that you get what you pay for.
The body of the guitar has been sanded down to its natural wood grain, and the neck appears to have been oversprayed at some point to prevent undue wear. The Fender logo on the headstock is a decal, with period-correct quotation marks around the Telecaster logo. The switch plate and 3-way switch appear to be original to the guitar, however the volume pot is not original. The original volume pot (not working) will be included with an assortment of original parts that will be shipped with the guitar. See below for details. The tone pot is original to the guitar. The tuners are aftermarket Kluson Deluxe closed-back tuning machines. Included with the guitar is an assortment of parts believed to be original to the guitar. The screws, bushings, and capacitor are all period correct and are purported to be removed from the guitar by its original owner. There appears to be a small crack where the neck meets the headstock that has been expertly repaired. There is minor body wear in various places on the body and neck, common in vintage instruments of this age.
