Ask About This Product

Hilgen amps is a now-defunct guitar amp company based in Hillside, New Jersey in the 1960's. The name Hilgen is a combination of the words Hillside and the last name of the company's founder, Jack Gentul. Hilgen amps are coveted for their unique tone and innovative designs. This Hilgen R2522 Victor combo is an even rarer model in an already rare line. Built as a two channel amp and intended for use by guitar and accordion duos, the Hilgen Victor has a tone that stands all on its own.

With built-in reverb and tremolo, the Hilgen Victor is a versatile amp with lots of tonal combinations. The Victor sports a number of tubes to run its various features, including a 12AX7 preamp tube, 7199 triode/pentode reverb recovery tube, 12AU7A dual triode preamp tube, 12AU7A dual triode phase preamp tube, 12AX7 phase inverter preamp tube, 7591A beam-power-pentode power tube, 7591A beam-power-pentode power tube, and a 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier tube. Whew! That's a lot of tubes in such a small amp.

The Hilgen R2522 Victor is a rare amp with a unique sound. For players looking for something new or something different, this Hilgen is a good bet. With cool garage crunch and lots of midrange snap, the Victor is great for indie rock, blues, jazz, and more.
